Called Higher

As I was getting ready to go to one of my most favorite places, the Joy House, the Lord clearly stopped me in my tracks. I was putting on eye shadow when a sense of urgency came over me to write something down that God was putting on my heart. I immediately obeyed and went to my laptop. The Lord wanted me to encourage the women at the Joy House and explain that He has set them apart!

The Joy House is a non-profit Christian organization that rehabilitates abused women in crisis pregnancies. It is a short-term program that focuses on empowering women through Christ and teaching them life skills, so they can take care of themselves and their babies. The Joy House supports life when others may tell them to have abortions.

God placed this thought deep within my heart – “I have called these precious daughters to higher ground. I am their shelter and place of refuge. I set all of my servants apart. They must leave their people, their past, and their generational sins behind them. I am purifying them now.”

“Wow,” I thought! I was so excited as I typed this all out. My Heavenly Father took me to Genesis 12:1, where the Lord calls Abram to leave his people:

The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people, and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.’

When I arrived at the Joy House, I gathered the precious women and explained the urgent message that the Lord had for them. The Holy Spirit took over and assured each lady that He had brought them to this safe destination. The ladies knew where they could have ended up, but they were now in the shelter of the Almighty, under the roof of the Joy House, by no coincidence.

I explained that if they accept God’s holiness, He would teach them and lead them into truth and abundant life just as He did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses. “The Lord is renewing and transforming your minds, to wash away the things your moms, dads, grandmas, and other abusive people have shown you. He has set you each apart and called you to higher ground!”, I told the women.

We continued to read His word and specifically looked at how Moses fled from Pharaoh after murdering an Egyptian (Exodus 2:11-21.) Moses allowed wrath to drive him to murder because of a lack of relationship with the One True God. The ladies began to understand why a relationship with God is so important, and we were all empowered by His Living Word to move to higher ground with Him as our guide!
